Tennis Adds Match Against Coe, Setting up Doubleheader Tuesday

Sharks to compete twice in Orlando Tuesday.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern tennis team (4-3) has added a match against Coe College (12-1) Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at a neutral site in Orlando, Fla. The match sets up a doubleheader, with the Sharks taking on Grand Valley State (13-4) at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

NSU enters the doubleheader on a roll, winning two matches this past week. In 18 individual singles and doubles matches, NSU has only dropped one point. The Sharks defeated Northwood, 8-1, before traveling to Eckerd Friday to secure a clean sweep, 9-0.

At the top of the lineup, NSU is not expected to rock the boat. Alexandra Johansson (Jr., Sydney, Australia) has hit her stride this week, winning two top-flight singles matches. In the second draw, Sabrina Kierberg (So., Berlin, Germany) remains undefeated at 7-0 on the season.

The Sharks have been hit with minor injury bugs at the other end of the lineup, forcing a pair of players, Bianca Roberts (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) and Iryna Serdyuk (So., Boca Raton, Fla.), to step up. The ladies have answered the call and went 4-0 combined last week. NSU's depth has been one of its strengths this season, allowing the coaching staff to use nine players against Eckerd Friday.
